Important issues on the next administration

The next immediate and very important tasks include the inauguration and transition to new government. In a cabinet meeting after the run-off election, Governor Ehsa had appointed Mr. Paulino T. Lambert, Acting Director, Depart. Of Treasury and Administration as the chairman of the Transition Committee  and Mrs. Janet Panuelo the Acting Administrator of the Office of Social Affairs to be the chairman of the Inaugural Committee. They have the prerogative in forming sub-committee for speed, smooth and orderly preparations.

 

According to the leadership of Pohnpei, certain very important issues stand out and most likely will be addressed in the next administration which commences on Monday, January 9, 2012, at noon and the issues are as follows:

-          World Park’s master development plan (SDP) legislative approval.

-          Paving of circumferential, kousapw and fishermen roads.

-          Completion of airport project.

-          Continue construction of approved projects.

-          Alternative energy development (hydro and biogas)

-          Inclusion of all schools into the student lunch program.

-          Implementation of Micronesian Tourism complex Project at Likop (1000 rooms)

-          Acquisition of a new field trip ship

-          Nanmadol restoration which include other places that have historical significance

-          Private sector development

-          Fisheries and acquaculture development

-          Agriculture development
